La Belleza Oscura
“La Belleza Oscura” is more than a painting; it’s a reflection of my journey. On my first visit back to Cuba as a young boy, I remember being afraid of horses—their size and strength were overwhelming. Yet, even then, I was captivated by their beauty and power. This Friesian horse, with its jet-black coat, flowing mane, and feathered hooves, is the most beautiful horse in the world to me. Its darkness is magnetic and deeply majestic.
This was my first time using oil paint—a messy, raw process that mirrors life itself. This painting is my dream brought to life—a manifestation of the horse that will one day roam my ranch, La Terra Alta. Until that day, it lives here on my wall, a reminder of my connection to nature, the dreams I’m building, and the peace I hope to find in creation.
